As an artist, I am interested in the process of discovery. Driven by the spontaneous, immediate feelings I possess when creating a work, my practice attempts to capture and map the experience of this self-expression. My work documents the traces of creativity that emerge and are only present during the process of creation. I do not search for order or specific form; each piece I create develops organically and I merely serve as a guide to realize them. I see my work as part of a greater collective attempt to unearth and materialize human subconsciousness. In capturing the unknowable space where creativity and discovery occur, I hope to also give it identity and form. Embodying it with a sense of neutrality, my work speaks to the idea of process in a way that disconnects it from my personal experiences. This creates an open-ended dialogue where the artwork, rather than the artist, is at the forefront of the conversation.
